FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR OUT OF A PACK MEMBER?
    During Our Meet & Greet We will Look for the Following: 1. Friendly/appropriate dog interactions 2. Friendly/appropriate Human interactions 3. Good leash skills 4. Basic Obedience 5. > 10 Months old No Pup is perfect so please reach out if you are unsure if your pup would be a good fit! We also offer private hikes to pups still working on these skills.
  • WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
    We require all pups to wear their tags for safety/ liability purposes during their adventure. ​ Additionally, please provide any harnesses or collars your pup needs to hike while on their adventure. We also encourage our pack members to wear GPS tracking collars to track your pup’s activity and whereabouts during the adventures​. We provide healthy treats, toys, water and leashes.
  • HOW LONG ARE ADVENTURES? HOW LONG WILL MY DOG BE GONE?
    Your Pup will be active for approximately: Beach Adventure- 120 mins Hiking Adventure- 90 mins Fall Adventure- 2-4 hours ​ Your Pup could be out adventuring with us anywhere from 2 hours to 9 hours depending on the pickup/drop of route, adventure type and location of the adventure. Hiker will communicate the estimated time when requested.
  • WHAT DO YOU DO IN BAD WEATHER?
    Rain or shine we go on our adventures! If the weather becomes dangerous for the pups for example under 15 degrees we post pone or cancel the adventure. We offer 5-10 minute quick walks for pups that still need to go out to potty for $10.
  • WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
    We allow you to cancel at any time and at no charge. But… If you have scheduled a service with us and either forget to cancel or if we cannot access your pup during pick up there is a no show fee of the 100% of the service rate.
  • DO YOU OFFER SERVICES ON HOLIDAYS?
    Holiday Rate Policy An additional holiday surcharge of $10 will apply for services scheduled on major U.S. holidays, including but not limited to: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. You’ll be notified in advance if your scheduled hike falls on a holiday rate day.
  • HOW LARGE ARE THE PACK HIKES
    Typically, pack sizes will range anywhere from 2-6 dogs per hike. We like to provide quality and tailored hikes to each pack members.
  • HOW DOES BILLING WORK?
    We send out invoices on every 1st and 15th of the month for the prior 2 weeks of services. We accept ACH transfers, Venmo, or Paypal
  • WHAT IF MY DOG ISN'T SPAYED OR NEUTERED? CAN THEY STILL GO ON THE ADVENTURES?
    We are happy to provide Private Hikes to any pups within the same household that are not neutered or spayed. Unfortunately, no intact pups are allowed in the pack hikes at this time.
  • WHAT IF MY DOG IS INJURED WHILE HIKING WITH AN ACTIVE DOG STAFF MEMBER?
    We are CPR and First aid trained and will evaluate the situation and take necessary actions. Additionally, we will notify you immediately of any serious injury to your dog. This is a very rare occurrence. If your dog injures his or herself, it is the responsibility of the owners to cover any medical expenses. If one dog is injured by another, we expect the owner whose dog caused injury/started an altercation to take care of the bill.
  • ARE ALL DOGS UP TO DATE ON THEIR SHOTS AND VACCINES?
    Yes, we require copies of all Adventure Pups Pack Members vaccination records (Distemperment, Bordetella and Rabies). We also expect clients to keep up with their dog’s flea and tick medication, as well as to register them in their town of residency.
